1) In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
My music magazine develops and challenges real media products in many ways. For my front cover of my magazine I decided to keep the layout and design very simple, with a consistent font type, colour scheme and overall house style. This is very similar to other magazines that also follow the same conventions. I also decided to keep the front cover plain, with only few cover lines because I want the main focus on the cover to be the artist. I kept the masthead simple by using one colour and my layout compliments my picture. I have not used a popular font; my chosen font is classic and very olden days, I used a DSLR camera to get some high quality shots and used one of the pictures for my front magazine cover; this is what someone working in the magazine industry would have done. I used a medium shot as this has always been a popular shot type in most magazines. This allows all the attention to be on the artist, as we can see her face clearly which would make her more recognisable to my target audience/ consumers.  This is similar to the NME magazine which I analysed for a case study. Rihanna’s cover has also been photographed medium shot and she too has a serious face, looking directly at the camera. My contents page has more than one image this is so the readers have an idea of what will be featured in my magazine, whereas the NME contents page has only one image , this tends to be of a music artist featured in the magazine. Finally my double page spread I can say is challenging to the NME one that I have used to compare because I used two different images of the artist; with different shots, wardrobe and looks. The dps in the NME use one main image mostly and the   second page for the article. The layout I have used is similar to an NME one and I’ve used one main quote that the artist says to drag the reader’s attention.

2)How does your media product represent particular social groups?
In my magazine race doesn’t matter for me because I’m not targeting anyone in particular. The age of the people I want to buy my magazine would be from 14 to older adults because my music will be mainly R&B and indie and older above 25 adults will not enjoy this kind of music. I have more females in my magazine only because it’s easier for me to relate to them. The audience are 14 + teenage school girls and 18 +students and 21+ people in work with careers. My magazine will appeal to teenagers because of the headphone competition so at least they feel like they’re in for something. The magazine will also appeal to adults because I have put in tours and younger aged females are unable to attend these, also older females enjoy a little adventure.

3)What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

My magazine will be distributed through social media such as YouTube adverts, this will work because my magazine will only come up if the audience is about to watch an indie rock song or R&B . My magazine will be distributed in the UK only. My magazine will be published through EMAP, they connect professional communities and inspire them to know, to grow, progress and win. Map delivers this through senior networking events; news and analysis.

4)Who would be the audience for your media product?
My target audience are young teenagers they'll be indie rock and pop music lovers.Gender wouldn't really matter but I would say females will probably prefer the magazine seeing as it’s about female artists. Ethnicity wouldn't matter because everyone has different music taste regardless of where they're from.

5) how did you attract / dress your audience ?
I received feedback from the audience that have watched my proposal some of the audience didn't like that name " vanish " because they didn't understand it properly so I explained it and kept it because I felt it had a lot of meaning behind it .in my magazine photography was one of my strongest points. I didn't use only one angle and shot I insured I used a wide range of looks.

6)What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
I had to set up a blog and this is where I put my coursework. Most of my work is types up on blogger. I also used Prezie to put my presentation, this made everything clear .Prezie is very easy and creative. I used YouTube to upload a video presentation of me this was very fun and I enjoyed it. Finally I used a DSLR camera to take all the pictures for my magazine because the quality is very good.

7) looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Looking back at my preliminary task I feel that I'm better at using photoshop , my knowledge has expanded from when I first started media this is because I now know how to edit like a professional. I also know how to more around and use tools correctly.the same goes for IN design iv learn more techniques and how to download fonts.I have also learn how to make my work look like a real professional magazine.  While creating my college magazine I went into a lot of depth researching magazines and I realised this has benefited me a lot. Overall my knowledge about technologies has improved I feel that I have developed more skills and techniques to create a profession looking magazine.
